Obituary: Atchley, Dorothy Louise Risdon, age 87, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on , 18, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace G. Atchley, Jr. who passed away in of 2004. Born 4, 1927 to Edgar and Edith Risdon, Dorothy grew up in the Burlington area. She was a life member of Kirk Hills Presbyterian Church (formerly Kirkwood Presbyterian Church) and a graduate of Washington Academy. Dorothy was a retired remedial reading teachers aide for the Knoxville School system. She was also a member of Acacia Order of the Eastern Star. Dorothy is survived by her children, son Alan J. Atchley of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law Lisa Atchley Bustos and Jeff Emmert of Clinton, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Heather Bennett of Columbus, Georgia; Andrea Suddreth of Hanover, Pennsylvania; Justin Suddreth of Clinton, Tennessee; and Steven Emmert of Arlington, Texas; sister-in-law, Willie and husband, James E. Bud Galyon; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend Lora Loring. The family would like to thank Norris and Rehabilitation in Andersonville, Tennessee for their wonderful and caring staff of Doctors and Nurses, especially the 400 CNAs who gave Dorothy excellent care during her time there. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn for a graveside service on , 25, 2014, Rev. Daniel Tipton officiating. Obituary: Connie Jonopulos Atchley, age 82, of Hixson, went peacefully in her sleep on , 17, 2014. Connie was born on 13, 1932 in Chattanooga to the late Ezna Elizabeth and George Jonopulos who owned and operated Georges Place downtown for over 65 years. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She retired from Hamilton School System where she drove the handicap children to school and events for over 30 years. Connie was very active in the Special Olympics and loved being involved in many actives. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hall M. Atchley; and a sister, Helen Gates. Connie is survived by her children, Woody Atchley; Mark Atchley and wife Starr, Daniel Atchley and wife Lynn and Liz Allen and husband Craig; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on , 20, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga followed by a Trisagion Service at 7 pm. A celebration of life service for Connie will be held at 10 am on at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 722 Glenwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37404 with Father Stavros Ballas officiating.
